Check the trans fluid level and  smell the fluid for signs of burning ( an experienced nose here can tell you more than a good psychic ) we'll add fluid if you are low and look for leaks.

Take the car on a short road test  to determine the nature of the problem.  You can come along if you wish.

If your car has an electronically controlled transmission we may hook it up to a diagnostic scanner ( a little computer that talks to your car's computer ) to retrieve any stored trouble codes or to view the signals that are being sent back and forth to your computer.

After gathering all the information that we can we will give you our diagnosis,  recommend proper action and explain your options and their respective costs.

Today's transmissions have hundreds of internal parts. If your car's transmission has failed and needs an overhaul then trying to guess exactly which parts are bad is exactly that... guessing.
